10 Best Lenses For Olympus OMD Em10 2022 – Reviews & Guide

The Olympus OMD EM10 is an awesome little camera! The OMD EM10 is a mirrorless camera which has the same sensor as the OMD EM5 and yet it is a lot smaller and lighter. I am a fan of this camera because it takes awesome quality photos, is super light, and quite affordable.

I have had my eye on this camera for over a year now and finally bought one about a month ago. I am very impressed with the photos it takes so far. As for lenses, I have been using the Olympus 14-42 mm kit lens that comes with the camera as well as the Olympus 45mm f1.8 lens. Both have been working well but I wanted to get a couple more lenses to increase my options of shooting style.

One great thing about this camera system is that there are plenty of inexpensive manual focus lenses available which can be adapted to work on this camera. The downside of these lenses is that they don’t autofocus but you can still use them in manual focus mode or even in autofocus mode if you are willing to pre-focus manually first (i.e., set your composition, focus and then wait for your subject to enter your composition).

Best Lenses For Olympus OMD Em10
Lens TypeWide Angle
Compatible MountingsMicro Four Thirds
Camera Lens Description17 millimetres
Maximum Focal Length17 Millimeters

The Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 17mm F1.8 Lens is a very popular choice among Olympus users for its premium construction, and amazingly fast f/1.4 aperture that allows for creamy background blur, and excellent low light performance.

This is the fastest lens in this list and also the one with the least amount of zoom, which makes it perfect for landscape photography and other situations where you need a wide field of view but don’t want to move too far away from your subject.

The main drawback of this lens is its price – at around $500 USD it’s one of the most expensive lenses in the Micro Four Thirds system.

You can get this lens in either black or silver, and there’s a special version in champagne gold that comes with an all metal lens hood and front cap (which are sold separately for the black and silver versions).

This lens features a dust, splash, and freezeproof design that allows you to shoot in any weather condition.

This lens features extra low dispersion (ED) glass with two aspherical elements to reduce chromatic aberrations and distortion while increasing image sharpness and clarity. The ZERO coating on this lens minimizes reflections to produce clean, high contrast images even in bright lighting situations. In addition, this lens has a fast and quiet autofocus system that is suitable for video recording as well as still shooting.

A circular aperture diaphragm delivers smooth out-of-focus areas in your photos while built-in optical image stabilization helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake when shooting handheld at slow shutter speeds or long focal lengths.

This lens also features 7 aperture blades, which create a circular aperture diaphragm that results in natural background blurring when using shallow depth of field techniques. In addition, the 14-42mm focal length is equivalent to 28-84mm on a 35mm camera, making it useful for everything from landscapes to portraits.

It also has a minimum focusing distance of 9.84 inches, which allows you to get close to your subjects for detailed shots like macro photography or product photography.

7.Meike 85mm f1.8 Large Aperture Full Frame Auto Focus Telephoto Lens

Lens TypeTelephoto
Compatible MountingsCanon EF
Camera Lens Description85 millimetres
Maximum Focal Length85 Millimeters

This lens is compatible with APS-C and full frame cameras, but the 85mm focal length is only ideal for portraits on the A6000. For portraits on the A6000, a 50mm lens is a better option. But if you want to shoot portraits on a full frame camera, this lens is a great option.

The 85mm f/1.8 lens has a 6-blade aperture that can produce beautiful bokeh. The lens has a small barrel distortion and vignetting at f/1.8 which can be corrected in post-processing if needed (vignetting and barrel distortion are common in fast lenses).

The minimum focus distance of 0.85m helps you get close to your subject and still fill the frame with them. Although it is not macro, it offers more flexibility than lenses with longer focal lengths and similar maximum apertures.

The Meike 85mm f/1.8 has an all-metal build which feels solid in the hand and contributes to the weight of 526g. It’s not as heavy as other lenses, but it is definitely heavier than most Sony lenses (most of which are made of plastic). The focus ring has good resistance and moves smoothly.
