PowerColor’s custom Radeon RX 480 Red Devil, which we’ll be reviewing today, comes with a custom PCB design, the company’s own in-house designed and built cooling solution, and a factory overclock. The card ships with core clock speeds of 1,380 MHz (1,411 MHz boost), which is a 135 MHz (13 percent) increase over AMD’s reference design.
The company will offer two variants of the card. There’s a 4 GB variant that features core clock speeds of 1,340 MHz (1,366 MHz boost), while the 8 GB variant features core clock speeds of 1,380 MHz (1,411 MHz boost).
The Red Devil RX 480 is PowerColor’s premium offering in the RX 480 series. It is equipped with an 8+6 pin PCIe power configuration to ensure adequate power delivery for the factory overclocked GPU and memory chips. The card uses a massive triple-slot cooler that covers almost the entire length of the PCB. The cooler shroud extends out beyond the PCB by about 2 cm on either end.
